You're my lover, undercover

Private are a Danish trio who have had a sizeable hit with their debut single My Secret Lover this autumn. It's a song made for the dancefloor (although it sounds pretty good in an mp3 player too), and the band have helpfully made a video with a dance routine for you to practice in front of the mirror. So, come on now...left, right, left, right, clap.....

Nordic-ish

I know Latvia is stretching the definition of Nordic a bit far, but I came across this group and video the other week and was strangely charmed! Their name is Detlef Zoo.

Going it alone

Tarja Turunen was unceremoniously dumped as lead singer of Finnish superband (is that a word?) Nightwish a couple of years ago. Her sebut solo single, the rather predictably titled I Walk Alone, is now out and it has to be said she is playing things safe. It really is like Nightwish without the guitars. But plesant enough.

Meanwhile her old band have recently released their first CD with new singer Anette Olzen, a former dansband singer from Sweden. Eek. But lead single Amaranth is a fabulous piece of Nordic pop.
